Erythromycin Aquarium Care 20g
Erythromycin Aquarium Care 20g is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in fish. It is most commonly used in aquariums and hatcheries to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including fin rot, mouth rot, cloudy eye, and body slime disease. Erythromycin is usually added to aquarium water or can be administered as a food additive.

Erythromycin Aquarium Care 20g has proven highly effective in the control of bacterial fish infections such as Aeromonas, Pseudomonas genera, and mycobacterial group (gill diseases, chondrococcus) and;

INDICATIONS & USAGE
Fin and Tail Rot:
Fins appear ragged and split. In severe cases, fins, and tail are almost completely eroded. Secondary fungal infections, observed as white, “cottony” growth, commonly occur.
Open Red Sores:
A bacterial infection that causes red sores on the body. Infections can range from very small ulcers to deep skin lesions. Coloring can range from reddish or gray ulcers to very dark areas associated with necrotic (dying) tissue.
Mouth Fungus:
The common bacterial infection that affects the mouth and other soft tissue. Fungus-like in appearance with a red periphery. If left untreated, severe erosion and lesions will develop.
Hemorrhagic Septicemia:
A bacterial infection of the bloodstream. Fish may show blood streaks on the body and fins, bleeding (red patches), and localized swelling.
Bacterial Gill Disease:
Fish may breathe heavily and show bright red gills. Fish may sit at the bottom of the aquarium or near the water's surface. However, visual diagnosis is often difficult.
Treatment Tips
Quarantine aquarium. Remove any dead fish immediately. Do not remove or add any live fish to the infected aquarium. Bacterial pathogens can be spread to other aquariums by nets, algae scrapers, and wet hands.
To aid osmoregulation and ease the stress of infected fish in freshwater aquariums, add 1 tablespoon of AQUARIUM SALT for each 5 gallons (19 L) of aquarium water, or 1-1/4 cup for each 100 gallons (378 L).
This medication may be used with anti-parasitic medications, BETTA4U VELVETCURE or BETTA4U GENERAL AID, to help prevent secondary bacterial infection.
- For best results, remove activated carbon or filter cartridges and continue aeration.
- For every 30 L of water, add 1 scoop (provided).
- Repeat doses after 24 hours.
- Wait another 24 hours then change 25% of the aquarium water.
- Repeat this treatment for a second time, for a total of 4 doses.
- Four doses are required for the full course of treatment.
